April was big month for me. I moved a couple days ago to my dream neighborhood in Kansas City! This apartment is super old and has so much character, and I feel very at home already. Since it is so old, it has a lot of quirks. It’s above a clock repair store, and every hour I can hear the clocks go off. They go off at random times before the hour because hey, they're broken. It’s very silly and I love it.
The building was built in at least 1887, and the clock store used to be a cigar manufacture. (How did I find this out? Fire insurance maps!! You can access it with a library card here.)
Moving takes up a lot of time so I don’t have too many things to show this month. Enjoy what I do have, and let me know what you think <3

My Eyes Have Wonder in Them
I did this little drawing on the bus earlier this month. I rarely ride the bus in the morning, usually only the afternoons, but my schedule was a bit different this day so I got to ride. I love the bus in the mornings, it’s typically very calm and I like to look at everyone and wonder what their day holds. The morning light in the bus also just looks real pretty. We were driving really fast around a bend that has a very tall cliff with trees all up the side. I looked waaaay up at the tree tops while we sped past. I love to look up at these particular trees- I love old things, and I like to wonder about life was like when they were new to the world. Looking at the trees fly by, I could feel my eyes shake with excitement. It’s been a while since ive felt pure joy via my eyeballs, and I don’t know if you have ever felt this, but it feels like when you're a child and you're so excited by something that all you can do it wiggle around and jump a little. I could feel my chest fill and swirl with a giddy feeling, and I wanted to giggle to myself. My eyes felt so ON and my mind felt so off (in a good way) and I thought to myself, my eyes have wonder in them.

Fighting Alone
You can’t really tell, but I covered this in glitter so it’s quite sassy and beautiful in the light. This paper feels like cloth, so it’s been slightly disintegrating in my sketchbook which is pretty cool.

The Dinner Rush
I did this while waiting for a haircut. I started with the chef lady, and then the birds, and then I made little frames around the birds and though huh... this could be a cool comic style drawing. And I went from there.

Well Balanced Meal
I did this after the previous drawing, while still waiting for a hair cut. I got there way too early. I get everywhere way too early because im weird and anxious.

Thats Nice
I did this while waiting for the streetcar. It was starting to storm and it was very exciting. The day after i drew this picture of a person being thankful for rain, I had a realization about myself. I realized I like a lot of things people typically hate. Like moving, packing, unpacking, taking the bus, cloudy days, winter, being woken up in the middle of the night, meetings, errands, hearing your neighbors, doing the dishes, cooking... the list goes on. I realized this because my new apartment is across the street from a construction site and everyone keeps saying things like “ugh that sucks” but i’m kind of excited about it. I like watching the progress of the building and hearing the evidence of other human beings around me. I also like to take progress photos to look back on when I can’t remember what the building looked like before it was done. Realizing that I like these things and I am able to see the positive side of life made me feel very lucky to be me.

Napkin drawing
I went to stand up show, and decided to kill time while I waited for it to start by drawing on a napkin with my mini colored pencils that live in my wallet. I had a great time. The end.
That is simply all!
Next month I should have more time sit down and experiment. My history class will be wrapping up as well, so stay tuned for more <3
